Why I Support RESOLVE: Infertility is a serious public health issue that affects 1 in 8 couples, and it is devastating for anyone trying to grow their family. RESOLVE has been absolutely vital in providing information, community support, financial resources, and advocacy to these vulnerable patients. I am very excited to partner with RESOLVE in its mission and look forward to more opportunities to pursue this vital work.

About Dr. Bromer: Jason G. Bromer, M.D., is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist. He received his medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine, where he graduated with distinction, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Kane-King-Dodek medical honor societies. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University, where he served as administrative chief resident and won numerous awards for research and teaching. He then completed a 3-year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Yale University in New Haven, CT, where he served as an instructor in the university’s school of medicine. Following his fellowship, he spent 2 years in practice at the Reproductive Science Center of New Jersey before joining Shady Grove Fertility.

He has been involved in cutting-edge research in fertility preservation for cancer patients, pregnancy implantation, and methods of embryo selection for in vitro fertilization. His work has been presented at national and international meetings, and he has authored more than 40 research papers and book chapters.

Why I Support RESOLVE: I support RESOLVE because of the organization’s long standing track record of raising awareness about infertility, the ongoing support provided to men and women who struggle with reproductive challenges, and the commitment to legislative change to protect reproductive rights. RESOLVE has a tremendous heart, and I am proud to be a supporter.

About Dr. Copperman: Dr. Alan Copperman is Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as well as the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He is a Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Copperman also serves as Medical Director of RMA of New York. He is an experienced and respected clinician and has published numerous award-winning papers and textbook chapters on egg freezing, infertility, in vitro fertilization, and pelvic surgery. In addition, he has presented research findings and scientific data at both national and international meetings.

Dr. Copperman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from New York Medical College. After earning his degree in medicine, Dr. Copperman completed residency in OB/GYN at Yale-New Haven Hospital, then continued his training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York as the Martin J. Clyman Fellow in Reproductive Endocrinology. Dr. Copperman is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility as well as in obstetrics and gynecology.

Why I Support RESOLVE: RESOLVE has earned my support as a result of a long history of effectively advocating for men and women dealing with the burden of infertility. RESOLVE continues to raise awareness both at grassroots local and federal levels. I am also delighted with recent efforts of the RESOLVE leadership to improve access to reproductive/fertility services.

About Dr. Doody: “Dr Kevin” attended the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Liberal Arts. Subsequent to this, he attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston both for medical school and for a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Following completion of his residency in 1987, Dr Kevin received sub-specialty training at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility in 1989. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and sub-specialty board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology/Infertility. Dr. Kevin has repetitively been honored as one of Fort Worth’s Top Docs, one of Texas’ Super Doctors and one of the Best Doctors in America for the last several years. These awards remain current through 2015.

Why I Support RESOLVE: RESOLVE has been at the forefront of patient advocacy for more than 40 years, working hand in hand with professionals in our field. The organization’s accomplishments on the national, regional and local levels have been so instrumental in helping patients overcome infertility that it would be hard to imagine what the practice of reproductive medicine would look like without RESOLVE’s ongoing efforts. As a physician with an interest in helping patients not only in my own practice but also throughout our country, I support RESOLVE because doing so is, quite simply, the right thing to do.

About Dr. Grazi: Richard V. Grazi, M.D. is the founder of GENESIS and Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at Maimonides Medical Center. Dr. Grazi received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine. Dr. Grazi completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the New York University Bellevue Hospital Medical Center. He finished his postdoctoral fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Grazi is an Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at SUNY Downstate School of Medicine. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in reproductive endocrinology. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, Dr. Grazi has published and lectured extensively on clinical and ethical issues related to reproductive medicine.

Why I Support RESOLVE: Our patients need a caring advocate to support them through their infertility journey. I support RESOLVE because I’ve been so impressed to watch staff and volunteers work tirelessly on behalf of patients to improve access to care. I’m proud of RESOLVE and proud to be a member of the Physician’s Council.

About Dr. Griffith: Dr. Griffith completed his residency and fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University and he also earned a master’s degree in physical therapy from Baylor University. After serving six years in the U.S. Army Medical Specialist Corps, he returned to Texas to complete medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

During medical school, he earned the McNutt and Klein awards for academic achievement and was inducted to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as presented original research at national meetings. He is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology-infertility. Dr. Griffith received the Hope Award for Advocacy from RESOLVE in 2015, and currently serves on RESOLVE’s Board of Directors.

Why I support RESOLVE: We do not seek out infertility. It finds us. Infertility is often unpredictable, always stressful, and often isolating. RESOLVE is invaluable in reaching out to those who are most in need of support. RESOLVE’s wide-reaching arc both increases awareness and works tirelessly to provide access to care both locally and nationally. I am honored to partner with such a vital organization. And I am humbled to share in RESOLVE’s mission of nurturing a multifaceted community of advocates, whose common goal is to help each individual benefit by providing the vital resources they need to navigate their personal path to parenthood.

About Sigal Klipstein, MD: Sigal Klipstein, MD is a board certified reproductive endocrinologist and lead physician at InVia Fertility Specialists. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Following an internship at Northwestern, she continued her studies with a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, both at Harvard University/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. While at Harvard, she also completed a fellowship in Medical Ethics.

Dr. Klipstein’s research interests include fertility over forty, preimplantation genetic testing, and reproductive ethics. She has published and lectured on these topics throughout the country.

Dr. Klipstein is a former chair of the Ethics Committee of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and currently serves as a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine’s Ethics Committee. She is an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago, and the Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at NorthShore University HealthSystems. She is also the director of the egg donation program at InVia Fertility Specialists.

Why I Support RESOLVE:

The desire to have a family is at the core of our being. Unfortunately, for far too many individuals and couples, the pathway to fulfilling this seemingly basic human need is quite challenging. Thankfully, organizations like RESOLVE exist to make this process easier, connecting hopeful parents-to-be with the resources they need to achieve their family-building dreams.

I share RESOLVE’s passion and commitment to serving others and fighting to make family building more affordable and accessible for everyone. I am proud and honored to be on the Physicians Council and look forward to doing my part to help this tremendous organization.

About Dr. Leondires: Dr. Mark P. Leondires is the Founder and Medical Director at Illume Fertility and Gay Parents To Be. He is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Leondires attended medical school at the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he was able to combine his interest in science, helping people, and problem-solving as a healthcare professional. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, which was followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

After medical school, Dr. Leondires served as the Director of Assisted Reproductive Technologies at the Combined Federal Program for Reproductive Endocrinology. While under his direction, the ART Program was one of the most successful in the Washington D.C. area and in the top tenth percentile nationally.

During this time, he was also an Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and clinical faculty for the Combined Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a parent to two children through egg donation and surrogacy, Dr. Leondires combines his personal and professional experience to help a diverse range of patients become parents.

When he became a parent with his partner, he recognized the limited options available to the LGBTQ+ community, which led him to create and launch Gay Parents To Be, an educational resource supporting LGBTQ+ couples and individuals on their own family-building journeys.

Dr. Leondires currently serves as a member of RESOLVE's Physician Council and a member of ASRM's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Task Force. He is also the Past President of ASRM's LGBTQ Special Interest Group. He has been selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Connecticut and New York for many consecutive years. Dr. Leondires regularly presents at conferences and organizations about fertility and family building, and remains passionate about advocating for access to care for all.

While his academic and professional career has led Dr. Leondires to spend his time in labs, hospitals and medical offices, he has not abandoned his love for biology and the outdoors. Dr. Leondires spends much of his spare time at the beach with his partner and two young sons, teaching them about the marine life of the Long Island Sound.

Why I Support RESOLVE: I support RESOLVE because they are the true heroes in our family-building community. RESOLVE represents empowerment, progress, and challenging both those who govern us and ourselves to participate in change, deliver more culturally competent care, and fight for the reproductive rights of all people, especially those in underrepresented communities.

About Alan S. Penzias, MD: Dr. Alan Penzias – an industry leader in all facets of reproductive care, research and policymaking – is a reproductive endocrinologist at Boston IVF and the REI Fellowship Program Director at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, and Boston IVF. He is also an Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Penzias was appointed to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s (ASRM) board of directors in 2021, where he plays a key role in supporting the organization’s mission of advancing reproductive medicine, its scientific standards, patient advocacy, education, and ethics across the United States. Additionally, he serves as Chair of the ASRM Practice Committee and is a member of the ASRM COVID-19 Task Force, which he shapes treatment protocols and pandemic guidelines for fertility centers and reproductive healthcare professionals to follow.

About Dr. Pfeifer: Dr. Pfeifer is an Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology and Clinical Reproductive Medicine at The Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine of Weill Cornell Medical College. A board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist, her specialties include in vitro fertilization, ovulation induction and fertility preservation (egg freezing). She has a special interest in reproductive surgery, and is a noted expert on the surgical management of Müllerian anomalies.

Dr. Pfeifer graduated from Bryn Mawr College with an A.B. in Economics. She completed her medical degree, residency (Obstetrics & Gynecology) and fellowship (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility), all at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Pfeifer joined Penn’s faculty after her fellowship, and was an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of Reproductive Surgery before joining Weill Cornell Medical College in 2013.

Why I Support RESOLVE: Patients entrust us with their care at such a vulnerable time in their lives and it’s our honor to get to know our patients on a personal level. The RESOLVE community promotes patient education and a sense of belonging. Going through infertility can often feel isolating and alone, but through RESOLVE we all feel connected to one another. RESOLVE helps our patients to feel they are not alone, to know their options, and feel empowered in their decisions.

About Dr. Sasson: Isaac E. Sasson, M.D., Ph.D., FACOG, received his medical degree and doctorate in genetics from Yale Medical School. He went on to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and his subspecialty training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

He has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, including in vitro fertilization, donor egg treatment, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. He utilizes both his clinical experience and extensive background in genetics research to optimize patient pregnancy and live birth rates.

Dr. Sasson is currently associate residency director of ob-gyn residents at Lankenau Hospital outside of Philadelphia.

Why I Support RESOLVE: RESOLVE is the organization with long-standing performance in the education and support of patients dealing with the struggle of having a family. Their broad-based provision of information and resources is critical, in my opinion, to our patients who are considering all options in forming their family – and a reason for my support of this organization.

About Dr. Schlegel: Dr. Schlegel is the James J. Colt Professor of Urology, a Professor of Reproductive Medicine, and Urologist-in-Chief for New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. His early training as a resident at Johns Hopkins led him to perform ground-breaking work in prostate cancer and male infertility. After a fellowship at Cornell and Rockefeller/The Population Council, he elected to stay on the faculty at Weill Cornell rather than returning to Baltimore, as planned.

Dr. Schlegel’s contributions to scientific literature are reflected in over 250 published manuscripts and several NIH research grants. He has made major contributions to the genetic and hormonal evaluation of infertility patients, as well as development of a surgical procedure to treat the most severe forms of male infertility, called “microTESE” or “The Schlegel procedure.” He has also developed new treatments for prostate cancer.

About Dr. Shastri: Dr. Shefali Shastri is the National Director of Physician Development at IVI RMA North America and serves as Clinical Director and Physician Partner at RMA New Jersey. Since joining RMA in 2009, she has helped thousands of patients grow their families and has been recognized for her thoughtful approach to patient care, clinical excellence, and commitment to advancing reproductive medicine.

A board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist, Obstetrician, and Gynecologist, Dr. Shastri holds a master’s in Physiology from Georgetown University and earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency and fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Inspired by her mother—a longtime OB/GYN—Dr. Shastri pursued medicine to empower women and families through knowledge, innovation, and access to care. She believes in equipping patients with the information and confidence to make the choices that are right for them, guided by both empathy and evidence-based medicine.

In her national role, she supports physicians throughout their careers—from recruitment and onboarding to mentorship and partnership—strengthening the clinical community across the IVI RMA Network and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Why I Support RESOLVE: Over the last few decades, RESOLVE has grown to include not just emotional support groups for infertility patients, but to support all aspects of the infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss journey. This growth includes active involvement in local and national legislation that improves access to care for all.

I love the long term vision that RESOLVE leaders have demonstrated by looking to have the greatest impact in the immediate and distant future. I also love the openness with which they work with ASRM in a collaborative fashion. Finally, I love the RESOLVE staff’s genuineness and sincerity with how they do their job. They are truly committed to the cause. They are really a great group to work with.

About Dr. Storment: After graduating medical school from Louisiana State University in 1992, Dr. Storment completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology from UT Health Science Center in Houston, TX, and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, VT.

Dr. Storment subsequently established his medical practice in Lafayette, LA, in 1999. Over the years, demand for his services in Louisiana led him open a full service practice and lab in Baton Rouge with consult offices in Alexandria, Lake Charles and Covington. Today, FertilityAnswers serves patients in over two-thirds of Louisiana.

He continues to be active in improving access to infertility services by working with local industry to add infertility coverage to their current benefits. In 2006, he and his wife, Amelie, created the Gift of Hope program which provides 1-2 IVF cycles annually at no cost to the patient.

Why I Support RESOLVE: RESOLVE is an important ally for patients and physicians in helping couples overcome infertility. Through their efforts—providing patients with a myriad of support resources, improving access to needed medical treatment by advocating for greater insurance coverage, or normalizing the diagnosis—I see the benefits of their tireless efforts every day.

About Dr. Widra: Eric A. Widra, M.D., is the medical director of Shady Grove Fertility in Metropolitan Washington, D.C.; Baltimore; and Philadelphia, and the associate director of the Combined Federal Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility—a post-graduate training program for future leaders in this subspecialty, operated through the National Institutes of Health, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and Shady Grove Fertility.

Dr. Widra received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed a reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship at The George Washington University. Dr. Widra is currently professor and director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Department of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Dr. Widra has produced numerous publications and presentations in the field of infertility and reproductive technologies. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology and a fellow of the American Academy of Wilderness Medicine. Dr. Widra currently serves on the Board of Directors of RESOLVE.

About Dr Zimon: Dr. Alison Zimon is the Co-Founder and Co-Medical Director of CCRM Boston. She is Board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

In addition to her role at CCRM Boston, Dr. Zimon is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School and is a Staff Physician in OB/GYN at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Newton Wellesley Hospital.

She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Zimon completed her residency for Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Prior to co-founding CCRM Boston, Dr. Zimon served as a Reproductive Endocrinologist for 10 years at Boston IVF. Dr. Zimon has authored numerous publications for leading peer-reviewed journals, including Fertility and Sterility and Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has led several research ventures aimed at enhancing options for fertility patients via program initiatives and innovation.

She is on the Executive Board of the New England Fertility Society and defines national practice guidelines through serving on the Practice Bulletin Committee of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Massachusetts Medical Society and Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
